Joshua Nightingale MEng

Joshua's Snapshot

Joshua Nightingale is a Linux/UNIX systems developer. In his spare time, he is currently working on the further development of the latest RedHat open-source operating system release: Fedora Core 5. He studied Computing at Imperial College London and graduated in 2005.

For the third year of his degree he was flown over to the US on an industrial placement at Oracle Corporation's headquarters. During this time he helped refine Oracle Database 10g on several RedHat Linux operating systems.

He is the partner in charge of our Global Strategic Alliance with Oracle Corporation, which will be a vital aspect of PSD's operation over the next few years.

Ryan Townsend MEng

Ryan's Snapshot

Ryan Townsend specialises in Java development. He is also a keen writer and has his own blog on the web that is updated on a weekly basis. He also writes all of the documentation for all the company’s products.

He, like Joshua, studied Computing at Imperial College London and in the final year of his degree was sent to Munich to complete the European Programme of Study. He is fluent in German as well as Java. Ryan has been acquainted with banking nearly all his life, his father worked for Deutsche Bank in the mid 1980's, so has personal experience of the ups and downs of the financial industry.

Ryan has also lead many research groups in the past and won several awards in academia for outstanding software engineering. But has now set his mind solely on working in the industry so has broken all of his research ties.

John Kern MSci PhD

John's snapshot

John Kern is a programmer at heart and has in depth knowledge of all things related to SQL. He completed a Joint Masters degree in Mathematics and Computing at Imperial College London in 2002.

After completing his Masters at Imperial he founded the Intelligent Systems Lab at University College London and he is considered an international authority on intelligent systems. He also holds a PhD in Computing from University College London where he is an honorary research fellow and a member of the Research Advisory Panel for Computer Science.

His main research interests are data mining and intelligent systems.
