planning/monitoring
intro...
Before working on any project, a period of planning is vital to ensure overall success. At the beginning of this period it is necessary to identify all the main tasks and subtasks that need to be completed. Each of these tasks must also be assigned with a realistic amount of time so they can be achieved and must be put into a sensible order to be effective. To ensure that the project is finished on time it is essential that some allowance for contingencies is built directly into the plan/schedule. This will enable me to run 'overtime' on particular tasks if required.
Given that I only have just over four weeks to complete this project, I have decided to generate progress reports on a weekly basis. This will enable me to monitor my progress and assess my own performance throughout the whole duration of the web site's development. I will then finally show how the plan actually worked-out in practice.
